Any ideas for itching?

Question:
So, clearly my body's immune system totally sucks, cause as one little bump almost goes away a new one comes (no break in between OBs). I'm working on boosting it but in the meantime.... I need some relief!

So, because I am taking Valtrex, most of my OBs don't progress fully. My OBs take either the form of very painful bumps that resemble bug bites when they are on my labia, painful ulcer-y things when they are inside, normal bumps on my bum, and now, little tiny super itchy bumps between my bum cheeks (i.e. my butt crack - is there a better name for that region??? lol) .

The painful ones I am almost able to deal with better, cause the V seems to make the pain go fairly quickly, and I can apply a topical painkiller, and if it's really bad I can even just take a pain med.

However, my itchy ones are driving me nuts! The whole area back there is driving me crazy. I feel like I need an Elizabethan collar around my bum (you know, those things they put on a dog's neck to keep them from bothering something that needs healing on their body). I am INSANE!!! I've tried Purell (hoping the alcohol in it will help dry them up faster), Jojoba oil, zovirax cream. The Purell relieves the itching for a very short time but it keeps coming back, way too quickly. The itching has been going on for 2 days now and is even affecting my sleep.

Any ideas for the itching??? The itching does seem to be in the whole area, not just on the bumps (altho it seems to focus on the bumps)...

Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Try to strictly avoid anything with hydrocortisone if you have active blisters, sores or lesions.

Domeboro helps with some of the itching especially if accompanied by blisters.

Summers Eve has a gel that does not contain hydrocortisone that helps somewhat.

Monistat has a spray "Soothing Naturals" that helps if you can find it.

If you don't have sores, blisters or lesions your dr may be able to prescribe triamcinalone cream which can help eleviate itches.

Thanks!

I'll have to look for those OTC products. I've never had itching like this in my life (well maybe as a kid with chicken pox). Darn H viruses!

I'm a little nervous to try any topical steroid creams even in areas where I don't have blisters... Right now I don't really seem to get full-fledged blisters anyway (I think the Valtrex stops the OB from progressing all the way to that stage), but I have constant prodromal symptoms - kinda scared that a steroid cream would help it develop into a full-fledged attack.
