Anybody know how rare it is to have HSV1 in your eye? It was diagnosed when I was a teenager, now I'm 43. I see my Opthamalogist whenever an o/b happens (usually once a year) & he prescibes Viroptic drops. He says it is rare. I can't find any statistics.

Occular herpes is common enough that they mention it on commercials in the US for eye drops.

You can find information on it on the internet but I don't now if there are statistics available.

Johnnycop - search "venom" to meet a guy who was treated with cobra venom to treat his occular herpes.

Oh, and Gutted my aunt had occular herpes. That's 4 for ya mate.
