clueless family
Question: me and my bf split for a while last year and i went to stay with my cousin for a night. i confided in her about my having herpes because at the time i was getting over an outbreak and figured she deserved to know since i was staying there. anyway, at the time she seemed fine with it, but she told her bf who wasn't. i was going to go to my grandmother's next door for my shower that night since i new my grandmother knew more about the facts of herpes than my cousin, but she said not to worry and when i got done she said that her bf said "keep the towel" i just blew it off as him being clueless and figured it no big deal. here we are a year later and when her bf was going out of town my mother (who is now living next door to her) was talking about me going to stay with my cousin for a few days because mine was going out of town too. when i told her i couldn't because my due date was getting close my cousin told her "no offence, but thank god". i didn't understand. i didn't think i did anything wrong during my last visit. later on she finally told my mom why she said that. it is all because i have herpes and she is affraid of getting it. i couldn't beleive it. my own family turning me away over this. it is really breaking my heart that they are so clueless (even though i told her the facts when i was up there last) that they would turn me away. Answer: maybe you can/need to educate your family. i have not told my family or my friends, so i cannot compare anything there. Answer: Id sod em off.. family or no family, anyone who would turn sumone away because of that needs thier head looking at. Answer: maybe you can/need to educate your family. i have not told my family or my friends, so i cannot compare anything there. that's just it, i've already told her she can't get it from me without coming in contact with the outbreak, without skin to skin contact in that area. and i keep that area covered with a bandaid when i have an outbreak (my outbreaks only happen on my inner thigh).
