Hi. This is my first post. I was just diagnosed with HSV2 maybe six months ago, and I felt so alone until I jsut found this forum today. I feel so dirty and unclean and unwanted. I feel like fucking used goods and worthless and think that no woman would ever want me again, and goodbye to my sex life. I just turned 30, and I haven't that many partners!!! I've had 3 partners in my life and got fucking stuck with this!!! I was almost a virgin and this happened to me.

I just am curious... how many partners have people had before they caught this curse? Am I alone in being so unlucky? It would settle my mind to know that i'm not the only one in this world who this happened to.

sorry but alot of people are virgins when they get this, and also get it with their first partner. SO, your luck- isnt that unlucky, how would you feel if you got it at number 1?

the number of people we all screwed is really irrelevant as to how we got it.
just cause some people have more sex, or no sex, doesnt mean they are unable to get the virus.

You're not alone - lots of people have the EXACT same experience as you...

Some people get it from their 1st partner and others after 500+...some just after they've ended a long term relationship...some in a long term relationship.

WaxedWrong is right - it doesn't matter how many people you've screwed...

I've also only been diagnosed 6 months ago...and I'm still on a major learning curve. And in my short experience - some people don't see you as dirty and unclean and still want you (just doesn't mean it won't end for other reasons).

Dont feel bad, I got genital hsv-1 at the age of 21 when I was still a virgin. I had oral sex with 4 boyfriends who never showed any signs of a cold sore in the entire time we were together so it totally came out of left field. I was the girl waiting for the right guy to have sex with and everything and then this happens. Trust me, I felt HORRIBLE. Luckily my bf is great about it (could have gotten it from him but ill never know which one I got it from). Im the last person anyone would ever think has gh. My ob/gyn told me so many women go in there who have it... and that I prob have a lot of friends who have it too but I just dont know cause no one talks about it. Of course this makes it super hard to date anyone. The fear of being in the dating world again is horrible.. I dont want to deal with it. But if everyone just dropped the stigma and realized how common it is it would be so easy to date people. You're not alone in any of this.. just look at how many people are on this board!

I tested positive back in Nov of 06. At the time I had only had 2 partners...so it was either the first or the second.

i'll say it. i had about 25 partners before finding out i had it. i am 22 y/o, had this for 8 months and am perfectly fine, i have come to terms with it and do not see this a terrible shameful thing.
