I know pilots need to go to special doctors for annual check, and they have to give the OK for flying, but I don't know how much details they go through... Maybe they even need your record from your regular doctors.

The only dis qualifiers for a 1st class medical are epilepsy and diabetes. After the age of 40, you have to have an EKG as well. Your AME Dr. has absolutely no access to your regular medical records.

So I can tell you with assurance, having Herpes will not prevent you from holding a 1st class medical which you need to hold the ATP.
