Question:
Ok, so I've had/having what my doc thinks is an ob. blood tests came back neg. My bf is getting blood work done today...so we'll know a little more.

I keep running the scenarios in my head for my future sex life and it looks grim. So, my bf and I are monogomous, committed, and intend to be together for life (hallelujah! haha) so, if we both have herpes, do we still need to use condoms? I understand I can pass genital to oral (so oral sex can be dangerous even without an ob)...but will we need to use condoms for life? what if we want to have kids? when we try will we re-infect eachother?

And, if I have it and he doesnt (or vice versa) what is the liklihood that he'll get it over the course of our life? Is there any way to have oral sex (condom free--i know i know, i shouldnt want to, but it feels better).

Its crazy I know, but if one of us has it, the other one of us wants to just risk it in order to make love condom free eventually, is that dumb? please any advice would be great!

you will have sex again.

if you both have herpes- no you dont need to wear condoms.
and if only one of you has herpes- you dont need to wear condoms.
its all up to you and your partner to figure it out. if they dont mind the risk then go for it.

i have HSV and my GF doesnt - she doesnt insist i wear condoms unless i have an OB - in which we dont have sex until its cleared up then use condoms for a couple of weeks after then back to normal.
