For those with (both) oral and genital HSV-2.
Question: On what location did you have your first HSV-2 outbreak? On your mouth or genitals? How long did it take before you had your first outbreak on the SECOND location? The reason I ask: I have HSV-2 on my mouth. My first outbreak was only a few weeks ago and although I haven't had any symptoms vaginally, it only makes sense that I have it down below considering the situation in which I acquired the virus. The waiting is not so fun...... Answer: To Imawakenow, I was diagnosed with genital HSV2 in November 2006. However, I have noticed for the past two months rashes and soreness in my mouth. I think that I have it in my mouth as well. So, it took about 6-7 months before I noticed an infection in both areas. Answer: Ok, I am really confused. I thought that the HSV1 was oral and the HSV2 is genital herpes. Is that incorrect? I did know that you could have HSV2 orally. Answer: Yep! TRUE True....If u have HSV-2 on your genitals, you can give it ur honeylove on his mouth if he goes downtown on you! Same thing w HSV-1 getting on your privatessssss. Yep yep...happened 2 me! They look the same, so no one will really be able to tell and outbreaks are less severe and not so often if the virus is not on it's home turf,,yep yep...true true.... Answer: If I have HSV1 on my mouth and HSV2 on my genitals and my partner only has HSV2 on his genitals. If I went down on him, would I contract HSV2 on my mouth? Answer: "If I went down on him, would I contract HSV2 on my mouth?" Probably- Not. Possible- Yes I have HSV1---according to bloodwork. Where? I don't know. I'm assuming on my mouth where it belongs, BUT, then again, I have HSV-2 on my mouth, too--according to lesion swab. I never have had any HSV-1 outbreaks, but bloodwork says it's somewhere on me!
