I'm confused...

Question:
Is it possible to have the prodrome symptoms of an ob, but it never materializes? Yesterday I started having some irritation in my vag area (sort of feeling like when you shave and the hair is starting to grow back), itching, but no burning. I looked and don't see any redness. I read all the threads and the talk of how it hurts really bad to urinate when there is an outbreak, I have never experienced that with my initial or my 1 recurrent ob. I guess everybody's obs are different. Another question. Before I was diagnosed, my bf performed oral sex on me when i now know i was having or getting over an ob (but the lesions, that i thought was from just having a little rough sex, had healed, yet I was still feeling the somewhat burning sensation down there). This was in early July and he hasn't gotten any sypmtoms on his lips. Is that possible? How long would it take for someone to show symptoms if they performed oral sex on someone who is has hsv2?

Answer:
a lot of people get prodromal symptoms that don't materialize in an official OB. It's prolly the virus activating but for whatever reason your body stops it before it goes crazy. Shedding probably occurs while you have prodromal symptoms.

As for your BF, he might have gotten lucky, especially since it is a little harder to catch HSV2 orally than genitally (but it does happen, several on the forums have it - it seems never say never with herpes), but there is always the possibility that he could catch it asymptomatically. If he ever has another partner later in life, he really should get tested before engaging in sexual contact.

Does he have HSV2 genitally? Cause if he does, that would also make him less likely (but again not impossible) to get it orally.

Answer:
He is waiting on his test results to see if he has H. If he doesn't have it, I am really going to be going crazy trying to figure out where and who in the hell I contracted this from. I was with a guy for 3 years prior to this and nothing. That was a stressful relationship so why didn't it surface then since stress is a primary trigger? This is all so confusing and still driving me crazy.

Answer:
I have no idea where this came from either. I never thought in a million years I would have an STD. None of my partners ever had any symptoms. I've been with my BF for four years and I really don't think he cheated. But now looking back over my life since I've lost my virginity I have had a lot of these symptoms before, just not all together at once. I had nonstop yeast infections that wouldn't respond to yeast infection treatment. After having my c-section I had unexplainable leg pains in the morning that were exactly like the ones i have now. And I thought I had a hemorroid (spelled wrong i'm sure) after my c-sec that just went away one day....so who the hell knows. This one blister I have feels exactly like that hemorroid!!!
