Question any of you good friends in support have any ideas of how I can keep myself from catching from my girlfriend I mean washing with soap does kill the virus but is there any creams you can use or gels? Or something maybe I could use? I plan to do oral sex as well as intercourse so.

If I get it I get it no big deal just would have to go on lysine diet and cut back on triggering foods for the first year or 2.

I have HSV2 and my man doesnt have either type.I'm on Acyclovir as well as vitamins and herbs that boost the immune system and fight off viruses. We have unprotected sex all the time since neither of us are big fans of latex and he still doesnt have it. I guess if you avoid sex during OB your odds are better of not catching it. Is your gf on suppressive therapy? It is supposed to reduce the shedding.

She is on valtrax but no lysine that would help alot prolly. Do you and your boyfriend perform oral sex? Cause im a big fan of that and if I really care about someone I really want to lol.

I tried the Lysine thing but it didnt help me much but I did get wonderful results from Vitamin E though. I give him plenty of head since we both enjoy that.He doesnt do me though because he isnt that big on it and we tried it before I got HSV but he didnt know what he was doing so I told him it was ok. I get more pleasure out of doing him anyway.;)

Yeah thing that worrys me most about oral is if I did contract hsv2 I wouldn't be able to touch it and or kiss her for at least till the first outbreak was gone then worry about viral shedding till my immune system took hold. I have medical insurence so I could afford meds np.

Your all welcome just remember its just a virus I mean when you first get it, its the worse but after a year or so its usually better.

I find that people that smoke pot "which is known to lower immune system" have outbreaks more often people that drink everynight or alot have outbreaks. Its a virus that if you prevoke it then you get OB's. Think of children that get hsv1 by the time they are adults 90% don't even get outbreaks at all even when they are really sick the body does amazing things immune system wise.

Think of herpes as a way to find the right guy.. a guy that cares about you for you. My girlfriend has gotten hurt in the past getting into friends with priv relationships and not real relationships just guys wanting to be friends so they can get free sex without having to call her a gf. I have been forced to listen to conversations of guys like that and behind the girl's back they are making fun of her. People like that end up going from woman to woman the rest of thair lives never really settleing down some do others do not.

Best thing to do if you meet a guy is to hold out on the sex thing put a "play the if you care about me then you won't worry about sex game" for a few months then if you really kick if off and you tell them it shouldn't matter by then. I was already in love with my gf when she told me I didn't care in the least.

Hey, starphyse, you give me a lot of hope. I just found out that my gf has GHSV2, and it's been tough to deal with. I hope that someday I have the same attitude you have, cuz that's how I feel, too. But living that way is hard when part of me really wants to be mad about the circumstances she got it in, and she just told me less than 12 hours ago. But I don't want to be mad, I want to be supportive; and I guess I can feel like I am since I've currently got 4 different herpes websites open, in addition to all the clinical research studies I've looked at. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I admire the attitude you have, starphyse, and hope I can have the same attitude someday.
