Birth Control Pills & Outbreaks - Ladies

Question:
I'm beginning to suspect my frequent outbreaks have been cause by the birth control pills I'm taking (Diane 35).
Been off them for a week now and miraculously the shooting pains in my legs have disappeared and I haven't had any outbreaks.
It might be too early to tell but I've noticed a great improvement in my general disposition. I don't feel too tired and like I said the leg pain that was constantly present since my diagnosis last April has disappeared.

Is there anyone else here who's had the same experience or experienced
otherwise?

Are birth control pills considered triggers?

TIA

Answer:
Hormones are triggers for many women and birth control pills contain hormones.

My advice, if you still want to use this form of birth control, is to talk to your dr about possibly changing the ones that you use. There are many to choose from and they have varying and different formulations of hormones so there should be one that is right for you.

Answer:
I started taking Diane 35 3 days ago. The next day after taking it for the first time I got a cold (which I still have) and I know that when I have a cold my immune system is weakened which may cause an outbreak so now i'm worried about an outbreak. I really dont know if the diane 35 caused my immune sysytem to weaken and therfore resulted in me getting this cold and a probable outbreak.
I just dont know but im going to continue taking it and see what happens.
Anyone else out there who takes Diane35?

Answer:
I took Ovcon 35(spelling?) and caused one OB a few days later. It was in the starting not when I stopped.

Answer:
Can hormonal contraceptives (such as Depro-Provera) influence outbreaks?

Research suggests that hormonal treatments, such as Depro-Provera, can reduce the body's immune response and therefore your body could become more susceptible to having a herpes outbreak.

Answer:
Thanks for all your replies and for those informative links.

I guess I'll wait for a month or so and check if my hunch is correct about Diane35 being my OB trigger, then see my doctor for an alternative type of pill.

Answer:
i have H i'm 16 i was wondering if anyone else gets that leg pain they were tlkin about because i had it quite often i was taking my meds it stopped but i can't by them that often so i was wondering if it stops?

Answer:
When I had my first outbreak, I had horrible leg pains and it took a while to go away. Months later i had the same bad leg pains before my third outbreak. Ever since then I've had outbreaks but never with the leg pains. I guess the leg pains are one of the signs that an outbreak may be coming but they don't ALWAYS come before an outbreak. So yes it does eventually go away.
