All over my face. What's going on?

Question:
I had protected sex with a girl back in January who had hsv2 genital. A couple weeks later, I had a couple wart-like things on my penis that a doctor diagnosed as HPV, which he froze off. I've had nothing genital since then, but since that time I've been having outbreaks all over my face. I've had cold sores before, but usually not more than one or two a year if even that. Now I'm getting what I guess are cold sores weekly. As soon as one goes away, something else pops up in a different spot on my face the next day. One hit my cheek and seems to have left a permanent centimeter-long red spot. I've had them all around my lips, my cheeks, on my nose and below it, and now there's something on my chin. Some of it looks more like acne, but I wasn't having acne problems before. None of them are very bad, but I'm getting them SO OFTEN! For months!

What is going on? I feel like I'll never be able to date again. I went to a doctor and she was no help at all. She said the stuff showing up on my cheeks was not herpes, but I don't know if I believe her. What else would it be?

Answer:
The marks on your cheeks can be rosacia. It can occur in times of stress. It can appear as pimples or a rash type acne or broken blood vessels. Go to a dermatologist and get some cream for it.
