Anal Outbreak
Question: I was first diagnosed with genital herpes back in 2002. I contracted it while I was still a virgin but having oral sex with my first boyfriend ever. He never had a cold sore but I guess he was shedding with no obvious outbreak. At first I was getting outbreaks frequently, the first one being the worst. I thought I was going to die of pain. Then they came fewer and farther apart and less severe. I was without an outbreak for over a year up until now. I started with a severe itching of the anus, I thought it was just irritation since I never had an OB around my anus before. I was using hydrocortisone cream to relieve the discomfort. Now the itching has subsided and I have bumps all around and Im in horrific pain. My lymph node is the size of a golfball too. I started taking 1500mg of lysine a day since I cannot reach my doctor for a Valtrex prescription. It feels almost as bad as my first OB ever except on my anus. Is it normal for it to spread all over the anus? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to relieve the pain until I can see my doctor? I have to work and its almost unbearable. Answer: yes this can happen. but it could be a bacterial infection too. I had this happen and it kept getting worse until I got into the dr. don't use hydrocortisone on an active ob it can make it worse. my best advice is to keep it clean and dry. No petroleum either. I still swear by epsom salt baths and the Aveeno Active Naturals powder for poison oak. For itch I use the Summer's Eve anti-itch gel if there are blisters or sores. Or Domeboro powder. If stuff isn't open or weeping Calamine lotion will help. Shake well, apply to cotton ball and pat on. Take some over the counter Tylenol and Advil together and lots of water. Answer: My first OB was all in my anus, and it was the most painful thing ever. I am just now getting over it, however I have a really bad itching down there now!!!!! I wonder if I am getting another one (based off of the symptoms you are saying). This sucks :( Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
