I have been trying to hard to stay positive throughout this whole ordeal. I have changed my diet, exercised everyday, gotten enough sleep, been taking vitamins and valtrex. One OB after another. Yes, they aren't the huge sores that everyone talks about, but seriously....as soon as one is going away, up pops more bumps in another place. I just don't know what else to do anymore. Everyone keeps saying this will go away, but when? I have had outbreaks now for a month. I need a break....how did I even get to this point?

I have had genital Herpies now going on 2 years. Just when I think I have the outbreaks under control I have another one. I have a good job, but I have had to tell my boss, so she is aware of why there will be times I need to call off due to the flu like symptoms. I ask myself how will Herpies affect my life as I get older I am 53.:confused:

I'm 56, and I get this horrible vision in my head sometimes of being 90, incapacitated in a nursing home somewhere, and having the ob from hell that no one knows about but me, but I can't do anything about it! Stupid, huh? Right now, I can't say I'm particularly suffering, because my ob's are pretty well in check, but who knows what 20 or 30 years will bring?

The good thing is, although I've been staying in pretty good shape and I have a very physically active job, I'm even more committed to keeping myself physically able to do for myself for as long as possible... hopefully until I drop dead! Gettin' old's a bitch, ain't it? :)
