after 20 years, more frequent obs
Question: I am really concerned and at my wits end and need to see if anyone out there has any input. I believe I got herpes about 20 years ago. Never had any outbreaks for years and years. I am a 46 yr old female. Now, all f a sudden, I am having outbreaks back to back. At least one a month for 3 months. They never seem to go away. I don't know why this is happening and I am concerned but have gotten no help at all fom my doctors. I don't have HIV or cancer...and sure, I have stress, but no more than any other time over all those years where I never had any outbreaks. This is terrible! I have been taking acyclovir but it doesn't seem to be making much difference. Anyone have any ideas? Answer: It's possible that you are experiencing some hormonal changes as you approach menopause that are throwing your body out of whack. Anyone else out there notice a relationship bt obs and menopause? Answer: It's also possible you've somehow contracted the other form of HSV -- if you had HSV-1 before, you've now got HSV-2 or something. I guess we'd have to know more details?
