Question:
Okay so I started with burning down there on Sunday. I assumed it was herpes because I had a pain in my right foot for a couple of days before that was similar to the ones I had during my primary OB. I took my Famvir on Sunday and the swelling and burning haven't decreased. If I didn't know I had herpes I would think this was a yeast infection which I'm quite prone to. With yeast I sometimes get papercut looking things and now I have one but it's exactly where the first and worst herpes blister was. To top it off I have a cottage cheese type discharge which indicates yeast. How am I supposed to tell which it is without running to the dr every time? Also, will taking OTC yeast treatment exacerbate the herpes? I used it the first time because that's what I thought I had, but that first OB was terrible anyway. HEEEELPP!!! LOL

I thought she may have gotten HPV but it wasn't

That is yeast medicine thanks! I'm going to use some OTC stuff that works pretty well for me. This feels a lot more like a yeast infection now than an OB. Maybe the antivirals worked and now I just have to deal with this. I don't feel crappy all over like I did with my primary OB. I was just worried that the yeast medicine could possibly make the OB worse, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to ever get a yeast infection along with an OB. I think I would like to trade my vagina in for a new one.

I have to say...I started the OTC yeast cream last night and feel a lot better today. We have to make sure that we don't think EVERYTHING wrong with our bodies is from the Herp. Actually, it would be easier that way cuz at least we'd know. HAHAHHAHA

I often get yeast infections/yeast infection type symptoms along with my OBs.

I also used to get yeast type discharge right before my outbreaks. My first OB was misdiagnosed as a yeast infection. And I find if I use to much Monistat or whatever and it is an OB I swell and things are SOO much worse. So please use the OTC meds with caution. Also be cautious it isn't an OB before you have sex
