please respond
Question: i posted this on the newbie forum and no one responded. i just want to know if this thing is as dibilitating for others as it has been for me on occasion. i am having a terrible outbreak now and the pain is so much worse than the sores themselves. please tell me i am not alone! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i was diagnosed almost two years ago, and i don't know anyone else who has this, so i don't really know what is normal. for me, right before i have an outbreak, i have pain in my genitals, then i get blisters that sometimes turn into sores. the pain though is the worst. i have horrible headaches, my whole body aches, i get shooting pain down my spine and the backs of my legs, i feel like i have the flue, and i feel exhausted. i usually end up calling in sick from work for a couple of days, and feeling ashamed and embarrased because i don't sound like i'm sick, even though i feel awful. does anyone else experience outbreaks this way? i know it is different for everyone, but i just want to know if it is so painful for anyone else Answer: Seems like very few responses are being made this week but I'm sure someone else will eventually. Mambo, I am so sorry to hear that you are in such pain. I know it doesn't help much but I have read other posts where some individuals do experience what you are going through. I personally do not have such extreme symptoms but I have had a 6 week long outbreak along with a 2 month long head/chest congestion. I think I've only seen one other person who had this head/chest thing and it probably didn't last this long! If you visit often and read a lot of threads you will find how many different ways this virus can behave. Unfortunately, your symptoms seem to be more common than mine. I sure hope you feel better soon. Answer: I hear what your saying. I've only had one serious ob. When it happend the actual sores weren't the problem it was my body and head that hurt. It was exactly how you described it. The first day of the ob I was drained of all energy. Once I hit my bed I literally couldn't move. The next day I felt alot better and it was just the feeling of a little sick. I think this is just what happens when you have a serious ob. I have been diagnosed for about 4.5 months and have only had the one serious ob. Its all how your body reacts. Do you take any meds? Answer: I actually went back to the dr. after I was diagnosed and asked for some kind of pain medication becasue personally the over the counter medicatons was doing nothing for me. I couldn't sleep eat or function at all. I have 2 small children so this was hell for me but she gave me a perscription for hydrocodone. THANK GOD!! I have only had that 1 ob but I am hoping she will be as sympathetic the next time. I have seen this Dr for years and never gone to her for any pain medicatiosn so I know she new I was serious about the pain. I don't wish that kind of pain on anyone. When I say pain I mean all the symptoms u are going through and the pain from the sores. Answer: I have only had one ob it is gsv1 genital. The pain you are describing seems dibilitating. Have you been on any anti virals? It has been 6 months since my first and so far only ob but I started on valtrex immediately as a suppressive. So why have you not tried that? I take lots of viatamins in additin lysine, olive leaf zinc, c and b. I find that when I walk every day or exercise the tired feeling s go away. Exercise is good for depression and it actually gives you energy if you can force your way into that . I admit some days it takes all I have but it is not only a healthy habit it gets you out and around people and keeps your mind off of your woes. I have never had the pain except the one time and it was more like a burning itchy sort of thing. I have to admit though, I do get fatigued easier than i used to but that may be due to my age! YOu need to ask your doctor aboiut alternative treatments. Answer: thanks for the responses. i do take acyclovir when i have an outbreak coming on. i have had this for 2 years, and this one feels very much like the first outbreak i had 2 years ago, but the sores don't hurt like they did then. i think i have been under a lot of stress, and i had a mole removed, and after that, i started feeling terrible. i think the pain from that brought this on. this has been one of the worst outbreaks from a pain standpoint. i called my doctor's office to get a note for work so that i don't stress about it. i've had this long enough to know that if i don't just quit and rest, i don't get better. it will last a lot longer, and once it goes away, i get another outbreak immediately. i just have to stop and rest, and i work retail management, so that is hard to do. i have to get a different job. . . i keep having outbreaks, and the work stress is high. i take lysine, but i am not consistent about it, same with vitamin c and b complex. i will try to keep up with that better. Answer: Im so confused because I feel like I dont know what signs or symptoms I have besides the fact that It hurt when I urinated and when I wiped. Im so frustrated. When the nurse said " you showed antibodies for hsv2 so its somethign youve had in the past" what does she mean in the past? How long in the past because I dont remember ever feeling like this!!!! I want to scream and cry I dont know Im confused someone help! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
