Lip's tingling

Question:
Been dealing with this for about 7 months or so, at first the genital H. I don't know if I got it at the same time or it spread, but I about a month and a half ago I got a couple small cold sores on my lip. I'm happy they have stayed away since, but I'm now constantly getting the tingling in my lips, especially at night.
It definitely beats an outbreak but just when I think I'm ready to act normal again I don't want to be afraid of making out with a girl, and worry that this tingling means contagious, and I have to avoid kissing anyone even though there's no outbreak.
Anybody know if you can spread the virus in this stage, and any lip balm or something that can stop the nerve from tingling?

Answer:
Supposedly there is asymptomatic shedding, which means you can spread this virus without showing any simptoms whatsoever. There have been studies taken to prove this however I have yet to find someone who picked up oral herpes (HSV-1) this way.

Yes the is a drug that is FDA approved drug called Abreva. I used it and works really well. What it does is strengthen the cells against the virus's pentration therefore stopping it from causing sores and actuall diesease.

the must spread it on at first signs of tingle and it can usually abort an outbreak.

If you want to kiss people but are afraid you migth infect them use lycroice lip balm. The glycyrrhizic acid in the lycorice kills the virus contact.

Don't let a coldsore bring you down it's a very common thing. As long as you don't kiss someone whilst you have an outbreak or up to a week after all signs of infection are gone you should be okay.

Also take vitamins C, A, E and zinc to boost you immune system and if your really worried get some valtrex perscribed. However becareful to read the side affects

Answer:
I had the same thing, as soon as I found out I had h-2, freaking out about every little thing and was using abreva (constantly for a couple weeks) and finally said to myself "this is enough, I'm freaking out about what?" well, I've always had a bit of a problem with chapped lips, and I think it was just me flipping out thinking I had ob's everywhere. My lips just have the usual chapped winter thing going on, that's it. No sores. I think that using the abreva along with about 4 different chapsticks (and carmex) was causing a bad reaction. Good luck to you.

Answer:
Thanks to you both for your comments. I will definitely take your advice, i'll be headed for Walgreens to pick up some of that Abreva. Never heard of licorice balm, I hope they have that too.
It's definitely helps me to know I should be alright as long as I keep the OBs away. This site has helped me waaaaaaay more than the f##kin quack dermatologists that I consulted.
I am already taking those vitamins, Angel thanks. I also learned of a little home remedy a lovely lady named Christy on this sight told me about- mixing Cayenne, chili powder, lemon juice and a little water in a shot glass and knocking it back daily (to strengthen alkaline levels). Because of everyone's advice on this site I went from an average of an OB every 2 weeks to none since August (when I found this site). Just this tingling in the lips, but now I got something to take care of that little problem.
I know i'm man enough to deal with this but my biggest fear is passing it to anybody, but with all of your advice I think I can really avoid that from happening.
