does cold weather trigger outbreaks?

Question:
Hey yall! I haven't posted in a almost a year and that's because this is my first outbreak since my first one. I just wanted to post a theory and see what this community thought of it.

I am wondering if cold weather triggers genital outbreaks. The weather finally turned 30 degrees outside where I live and I walked my dog one day on a long walk without being properly clothed for it. Needless to say, I was chilled to the bone. 1.5 days later, I start breaking out. I know that cold weather triggers oral cold sores on some people and so I ask this community whether they experience the same thing.

Other (less theoretical) reasons for my outbreak include:

holiday/semester-ending stress
going off birth control
holiday drinking and high-fat food

Answer:
I got an outbreak the day after sitting outside in 35 degree weather for about a half an hour. I know that if your immune system isn't very strong, cold temperatures can add stress to it. In my case, I was also exhausted that day, so I'm sure that didn't help. I don't think the cold alone is enough, in my case I know it's also because of all the holiday chocolate goodies I've been eating up lately.
So, even though I don't think the cold alone can trigger, it can certainly help cause an OB.

Answer:
I agree that it's usually the big picture. Adding up what's been happening with your immune system/stress/diet. And freezing your arse off will definately tax the body..
