Well I don't know what the problem is but I can't seem to get rid of this outbreak! I go no more then a few days with out a outbreak. This has been going on for about 4 months now. I am taking Valtrex every day and still can't get rid of them. I know I should go back to my doctor about it. I really think my husband thinks I am making this up to avoid sex but I'm not. I end up giving in and having sex with him and that just makes it worse. I think maybe I should stop eating chocolate and caffine and see if that helps. Any advice???? :(

I think maybe I should stop eating chocolate and caffine and see if that helps. YES YES YES. I know it may not seem like a very significant thing, but diet really does play a major role in this. Of course, everybody's different and what works for one may not work for another, but isn't it worth a shot? I can tell you from my experience, high argenine foods like chocolate and caffeine are just asking for an ob. cutting down on those foods has made the biggest difference for me!

Hi. You sound just like me. I get OB's constantly. I did get diagnosed with Thyroid Disease, which was a shock. You may want to get some blood work done. Sometimes when the immune system is effected with another disease, it causes a lot of OB's.
I feel the same way with my husband. He doesn't pressure me, but I feel guilty. I think sex causes the OB's sometimes. So, even if I'm "clear" we always skip a day between sex so not to irritate too much.
Let me know if you'd like an OB buddy. Sounds like we have some similar
issues!

I would love an OB buddy. I don't feel like I have anyone I can talk with about all this. I have been taking the advice given to me. Like taking showers twice a day, using hydrogen peroxide, taking lysine every day and zinc too, stayinga away from chocolate and caffine. I can't tell you the last time I had sex with my husband b/c of this. I think it has been at least a month now. I thought it was all working and the OB went away for almost a week. Now it is back full blown! I am really sick of this. I guess you are right and I should call my GYN to get him to try and figure out what the deal is. I don't know of a link. But I do know that Thyroid can throw your immune system off and cause frequent infections. :(
I had the herpes for years and never had constant OB's until after I got Thyroid.
