Hello everyone.

I am new here. I've had HSV-1 genitally since September 06. I've only dated one person since... and the talk went well. Very well. We continued to see each other but for other reasons it didn't work out, unforunately.

I'm not currently in the position where I need to start thinking about "the talk." I'm dating a few men very casually, nothing serious...

Just was curious - does everyone that has "the talk" have it in person, face-to-face? How do you initiate it? Has anyone handled this situation by just talking over the phone? Or even less personal... online? What about a letter? What are the PROs and CONs of these options?

I think personally it would be easier to do it over the phone or online, but I would think you would get much better results by telling them in person. I have yet to have the "talk" but need to soon. I'm slowly deciding how I want to bring it up... I think he'll understand...
