painless sores
Question: I have had genital HSV1 for three years. Being just recently diagnosed, I started valtrex which made my situation much worse. It has given me a perpetual outbreak! But the thing is the sores are painles and itchless, is that possible?? Anyone ever have or hear of something like thiS??? PS its not genital warts, looks like herpes. Answer: I was recently diagnosed also, and given a three day supply of Valtrex, since it looked like my first outbreak was almost cleared up by the time I went to the doctor. Since then I swear the sores have tripled, so i'm really curious as whether people have adverse reactions to certain meds also. Answer: yea and i was doing fine before the meds, the sores would come and go within a week, not to come back for a year... im just thinking that im gonna go off them, which will probably let this ob come out further (i feel like its a half-ob and the meds are keeping it at this stage, if thats possible) but ill take the full blown ob for it to go away in a week! Answer: btw did you stop the valtrex?? after that thrre day supply was up? Answer: It was actually just the day before yesterday that I stopped taking them. This thing is on with a fury though, seems like alot of people speaking of just a small cluster of bumps and my entire vaginal, thigh, and buttocks area are broken out. I know that this effects everyone differently, but everyday I seem to see more. Do you think that it is because it is my first outbreak? I don't think I can handle this perpectually. :? Answer: Your right it does affect everyone differently, but the one thing almost everyone does have in common is that the first outbreak is 100 times worse than any other. With my first one my lymph nodes hurt so bad i could barely walk, i had a fever, and it hurt to have pants on... My second outbreak was so mild I didnt even notice it, until i got my third and then i realized what the second one was... All of my ob's preceeding the first have been mild, just a nuissance. So dont think theyre all gonna be like that. I bet your next one (if you ever have one) cus theres a chance you wont, will be a localized small cluster. I just had a few questions for ya...How long have you experiencing symptoms? How many milligrams of valtrex were you on (500mg / pill)? Is it HSV 1 or 2? Answer: It's HSV2, and I took 500mg twice a day. The Dr. was reluctent to even give me that. I had been broken out for about two weeks. She said that it looked like it should be cleared up within a week. I asked about some creams or anything to help with the itching and pain, but she said that creams were not ideal because it was best to keep them clean and dry. I've heard a few horror stories though about people who have outbreaks for months. I hope this isn't going to apply for me (or anyone else for that matter). Everyone seems to say that stress is a major trigger. So maybe the first outbreaks are the worst cause finding out that you have herpes is more than a little stressfull! Answer: Yea tell me about it!!! I am just one of the many who are living proof that finidng out its herpes is a major factor with an outbreak... like I said, I didnt know that my first two outbreaks were herpes. The doctor told me it was a staph infection or something, so both of those ob's went away really quickly. Now on my third, I found out it was H and the ob has lasted a month!!!!!! Even now, Im more relaxed than Ive been in a while, almost 100% better (psychologically) and the ob is just starting to recede. But im sure my immune system has taken a beating between not eating healthy, not sleeping, not exercising, and stressing. So now im back to the gym, taking vitamins, sleeping and Im getting better. So make sure you take of yourself, and youll feel better in so many ways. Answer: yes my lesions are just how you described...painless, itchless and mine did not even scab over. my initial outbreak was diff. than others' too...no lymph node swelling or flu like feelings. had i not visually noticed the bumps i wouldnt have even known they were there. just 4 or 5 of them that lasted about two weeks. been over two months and no signs of recurrence, yet. maybe im lucky so far with this disease...??
