Question:
I was just diagnosed with Genital herpes and may have contracted it form my gf. We have been together for a year and a half and she says she has never had any signs of it. I know I have never had any signs and my doctor told me yesterday that due to the severity of mine , it looks like I was recently exposed. God, I'm so confused because my gf swears she has been faithful and has not slept with anyone but me even up intil a few months before she met me. Is it possible for her to have been carrying this, without even so much as a single outbreak? Or is it more realistic that she did something stupid recently and BAM. I mean, we had sex a couple weeks ago and she noticed a sore on her and then I noticed mine and hers went away and mine got really bad and now here we are. Breakup? Lies? Not sure how this all starts. :x

welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry for your recent diagnosis.
It is very possible that your gf has been a carrier of the virus for a long time, and it is just now showing up. you said she got a sore that went away, but you got really sick.... like your doc said, as sick as you were you were probably recently exposed. hers just went away... maybe she'd already had the antibodies to fight it? Fact is, either scenerio you described is possible. just know that the above is very possible, and go with your instincts. Do you trust her? believe her? Go with your gut.
