"incubation period," new to all of this boyfriend

Question:
hello i am a 25 year old female, senior in college. i just recently met a guy - my first real boyfriend ever. he is amazing. and i am so happy with our relationship. well, this past tuesday i found out that i have genital herpes. i was completely devastated (clearly). i mean, i have bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder so that certainly didnt help matters at all. we are both freaking out b/c our relationship is new. he wont get tested b/c he says it's a waste of money b/c we had sex during my outbreak - EVEN THOUGH i insisted he use a condom, we did for a minute and then he wanted to take it off. anyway, one dr. mentioned to me that there is a 2-3 week "incubation" period - and that if i did not have this before i met him (a month ago) then i got it from him. and other thing is - he doesnt think its possible even though the dr. says you can be a carrier, and never have symptoms which is quite frightening.
he withdrew from me for several days, and it was just last night that we started cuddling again, and it was so nice to fall asleep in his arms.
i have felt like a leper all week - gross and disgusting. its been a nightmare honestly.
we dont know what to do as far as our sex life goes at the moment - he says he's gonna wait a month and a half to see if he has symptoms - i dont see why he wont get freaking tested
HELP!!!!!

Answer:
maybe because he gave it to you

Answer:
can you be a carrier and also would it show in a blood test if you have never had any signs of it at all. If its lying dormant would a bloos test show it ..Thanks

Answer:
Moondancer,
Even if you don't have any physical symptoms of herpes, if you are a carrier it will show up in a blood test, but the blood test can't tell you if you have genitial herpes or if you have oral herpes.

As for Eightcutsch,
I'm not one to pass judgement on anyone. But I really feel that your boyfriend gave you this virus and I also feel that he knew all along that he had it. And that is exactly why he doesn't want to get tested right now. AND it wouldn't surprise me if he does get tested a MONTH LATER and tries to blame you for giving it to him. Stay smart and keep your eyes open. There are a lot of twisted, dishonest people out there.
