Incr. in recurrences/Antivirals ineffective/Alt. treatments
Question: PLEASE HELP WITH ADVICE! Anyone (especially women) who's actually been having more rather than less genital herpes recurrences in the past few years? Anyone for whom suppressive therapy isn't working? Anyone for whom alternative treatments of any kind have worked? I'm a healthy, active 26 y/o woman (no other STDs, no allergies, no drug use). I've had HSV2 for nearly 5 years. I started with having 8-10 outbreaks a year with regular suppressive therapy. Now I have an outbreak 3 days before my period, then another one 2.5 weeks later, both lasting for at least a week, sometimes for over 3 weeks. The outbreaks seem to happen independently of stress. Acyclovir has proven ineffective early on. Valtrex stopped working for me about 1/2 year into it. Famvir too. I try to avoid arginine containing foods and take l-lysine supplements daily. I'm at my wits' end. Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance. Answer: Hey Ardent: could it be possible that this is shingles? or Herpes Zoster? I don't know enough about either - I just feel for you - I would look into ozone or oxygen (HBOT) therapy - I know I would be a guineapig if I had that many outbreaks. I wish I had something concrete to tell you. I just can't imagine that is "simply" HSV... good luck. Answer: You seem like the perfect candidate for the clinical trials. Look at the Clinical Trials forum about AURx. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
