bathing suits, swimming and outbreaks

Question:
I live in a very hot climate and its already about that time of year to go to the beach and swim and everything.

I was wondering if its safe to swim in the ocean or in a swimming pool during an outbreak? Also what about wearing bathing suits all day at the beach, or go sailing or anything out in the sun that requires a bathing suit? Will it cause my outbreaks to be worse? It does get really hot and wearing a bathing suit that will stay wet after getting out of the water and then being in the sun and sweating etc.....just doesnt seem like a good idea. I love the beach and I have had continuous outbreaks since I contracted herpes last month. HOpefully after I get put on suppressive therapy it wont be as bad...still, the outbreaks that I have had are pretty mild and arent lesions or anything. Will the heat and wearing a suit make these turn into lesions? I would think that the salt water would be good for them.

Anyone have any experience with this? :?

Answer:
Hi. The salt water seemed to be real good for mine last summer. I also found out that rinsing the area with epsom salt dries it up faster. I think you may be on to something with the wet suit though. That can't help things. When I was on vacation last year in Florida, I was with an ob the whole time...

Answer:
yeah I already take baths in epsom salt when I have an OB and it helps.

I know salt water is good for healing as well.

Im just affraid that wet bathing suits will cause some problems *sigh* THIS SUCKS!

Answer:
My physician told me to avoid swimming pools during out breaks because you are putting yourself at risk for infection if they are open sores. You may want to check up on that more before you jump in the pool. Just passing along the info.

Answer:
yeah id never get into a pool with open sores. Mine havent been open sores, just little pimples. Im assuming they will always be this way.

My fear is that I would aggitate them or something either by the heat and wetness of the bathingsuit in the summer, or chlorine etc.
