i cannot bear with the pain of going to the bahtroom. ive tried everything. i read to use a toilet paper tube....that doesnt work, ive read to pour water as u go...that barely helps. going in the tub seems to hurt worse!! i just cannot deal. my kidneys or something hurt now cause ive been holding it for so long!! does anyone have any suggestions whith what has helped them? this is my first outbreak!! please help!!!! :?: :!: :?: :!: [/img]

I had an OB like that last year. There were so many sores that whenever urine came in contact with them they would burn so bad. Within a few days of heavy Valtrex dosing I began to feel a difference. I dreaded going to the bathroom. I would cringe while going or bite into a towel. There isn't too much you can do to elleviate that pain. This is really wierd but if you have one of those detachable Shower Massage things, spray it sown there while in the shower. That seemed to help a little and it even felt "numb" for a few hours afterwards. I remember the pain being so bad down there that I didn't want to sit down. My husband knew that once I sat down and got comfy, he would be letting the dog in/out, answering the phone, etc. because it hurt too much to keep repositioning myself. Just remember it will subside and get better. Next OB get on your meds as soon as you feel the itching, tingling, etc. What does your MD have you on? What dose?

im on acyclovir 200 mg...is valtrex better? honestly... i dont care if i rely on a pill for the rest of my life to prevent another OB... i cannot deal with this. this is my first one so hopefully this is the worst one. i know what u mean about once u get comfy... u dont wanna move. ive called out of work for 2 days... thats all my doc would write a note for... but i dont think im gonna be ready to go back tommorow...especially its more on the physical side. i dont have one of those detatchable shower heads.///that would have been great. although i am still in pain i feel alot better then i did a few days ago. its hard to sit, stand, walk, lay hahaa... its not funny.....but its like... i did not know that people had to deal with this! i mean.... i didnt know people were out here suffering! this is awful. ive never given thought to it until it happend to me. trust me...when im rich i will most definitly help find a cure... and deifntily find a better way to more comftorbly go to the bathroom :lol: anyways, thanks a lot for the suggestions and help.

(sorry to tell u my personal stuff) how long is this first ob gonna last? ive read someones posting....41 days! oh my god i will die. i have to go back to work tommorow ..... i work in a warehouse...lifting cases all day long. i dont know if im going ot be able to do it!! i cant even walk across my house..nevermind across a humungous warehouse. im so glad my classes are over...i couldnt imagine taking finals with this! well sorry to ramble ur eyes off. :lol: thanks a lot talk to ya later

The first 4 days I take 1 gram 2x daily then go down to 500 mg 2x daily. I always make sure I have a few days of pills on hand just in case. I hope you start feeling better!!

You are on meds right? I felt better after a couple days of meds when I had my initial outbreak. I'd be willing to bet that by the end of the weekend you feel alot better, take your meds religiously and extra strength tylenol works great for the pain. They come in 500 mg pills..I take 3 when I have an ob. It's the only time I actually do take anything as far as pills go, the rest of the time I'm very natural and opt for teas and tinctures that I make here at home. I rarely take even asprin for headaches. But lets face it..it is serious pain and its necessary. 1500mgs sound like alot but it really helps and tylenol is safe.

Take the medications as they are prescribed. As far as the tylenol I think the back says every six hours. I took them whenever the hell I needed them. I would take 3..it usually lasted for 3 or 4 hours before I had to take more. You may want to go to walmart and grab some lysine too. It aids in repairing skin tissue..alot of people take it to help keep outbreaks at a minimal. It's cheap. I got a big bottle of them at walmart for like 6 bucks. 1000 mg a day is what I take. I do have to say that I dont take them constently though. If I feel itchy or irritated down there for any reason at all..I'll pop 1500 mg of them for a couple days, just to be sure. I only have outbreaks every couple of years or so.
