I'm 17 years old and as soon as my coldsores clear up, after about 5 days or so, they keep coming back!

And it's making me seriously depressed =(

I can't kiss anyone!

Anyone got any ideas on how I can cut down the amount and the length of the outbreaks I have?

I am new to this group and came across your post. There are alot of things that you can do, so not to bore you or list too many. firstly have you seen a doctor to get a proper diagnosis. This is important to know for sure if it is herpes or not. They take a sample from one of the lesions and then test it and it will tell them if you have it or not. Or a blood test.
Ok some of the things you can do are . Use zovirax creme. I think in the us it is available without prescription. You can also take medication for herpes, which help alot to lesson the outbreaks. Some of the basic things are of course, don't pick at the sores when you have them, it is easy to spread to other parts of the body, especially down below. Try staying aware from foods that are to spicey, that can sometimes cause it to come back again. The other thing is to take good care of yourself, eat right, get enough , sleep etc. Well this is alot for you , but i hope some of this helps. I got it when I was 18 and I thought my life was over, but I am now 44 and i have my days , but i have learned to deal with it. Good luck
