Cracks in skin - outbreak?
Question: Hi guys, About 18 months ago I had this cut near my anus, it was VERY small, I couldnt really see it just feel it, and there was not ever any pain except for the slightest burn maybe one in every 20 pees or something. This cut lasted about 2 months - no changes, then just disapeared overnight. I didnt think of herpes, no itching, blisters, no new sex partners, until it had gone away - I started to look around the awful internet and saw how SO many people dont know they have it, mild symptoms, blah blah. I explained this to 2 doctors, both of them saying herpes runs a certain course, certain symptoms, this did not sound like it. Still not convinced I had a igm/igg specific blood test about 5 months after this cut appeared, negative. About 2 months later I had another, and just 3 months ago I had another, ALL neg. Only problem is I keep getting this same crack in my skin that I dont really notice until I go to the bathroom and (sorry, this is getting gross) my skin is sorta stretched and I can feel this cut. It just looks red, no fluid, swelling- just a red mark that feels dry and goes away sometimes in a week sometimes in a month or 2. It does sting when I pee more often, but I think thats cuz I am always stretching my skin to see this thing. I dont know if this is paranoid thinking, but blood tests are not perfect, and the doctors are laughing me out of their offices. Any ideas? Thanks. Answer: I've had a similar symptom for many years now. I get them on my testicles, and I freaked out one time and went to the doctor thinking it was herpes. I insisted on him taking all the tests even though he assured me it wasn't. He diagnosed me with Excyma (sorry, I never could spell it), and gave me some hydrocortizone cream. I now have the stuff with me all the time in case it comes back. Its cheap and it gets rid of the itch and the red small cracks in the skin. Of course I have no iea what I'm talking about, but it sounds really similar to my experience. Try it out, and smile for me if it works. I remember that day, I was very releived. Answer: Excema, no kidding! I actually have it on my mouth and hands, ears, occasionaly my legs for all of my life, it comes and goes - It does seem like a good possibility, thank you so much for the suggestion - I try not to get too upset because I figure the chance of having it and having 3 blood tests be wrong and no "classic" symptoms to be a stretch, but you just never know with these doctors! Answer: Think I followed that thread. I have psoriasis and it likes to "hide from light" so it hangs out in the same spots as h. I think the "thin skin" is how the h got me.
