Hi everyone, what a wonderful site! I recently contracted H from a bf i was with about 5 weeks ago. He didnt know he had it and we had unprotected sex. We are still together, im just as much to blame, and I hold no grudge against him. But boy is this annoying as hell. I had my first OB about a month ago which lasted for about 2 weeks...I was in agony. I had another OB about five days ago and was very minimal, i think i had two little sores, nothing like the first. My boyfriend has one sore on his penis which is amost healed.

Im not really concerned about getting cold sores and neither is he. Now my question is this: If both parties are having an OB that is not that pinful, is it still ok to engage in sex? My second question is if one party is having an OB can having sex then cause an OB for the other party? Another question..I had a pap test performed after my first OB and my results came back today as atypical abnormal. Could that have been caused by the herpes infection i had? Thanks so much for your input!!

Its recommended that you shouldn't have sex when either of you are having an outbreak.
This is all theoretical, but supposedly you could infect other areas of your partner.. Also if you have different strains of the herpes virus, you could get different strains.

If you were to have sex, then use a condom during that time. Also don't do any oral sex!
