Herpes Transmission stats and answers
Question: Most people get genital herpes by having sex or direct skin to skin contact with someone who is has cold sores or blisters present. When the sores are present, it means that HSV is active. Sometimes a person can have an outbreak and have no visible sores at all. People usually get genital herpes by having sexual contact with others who don?t know they are infected or who are having outbreaks of herpes without any sores. A person with genital herpes also can infect a sexual partner during oral sex. The virus is usually not spread by touching objects such as a toilet seat or hot tub. Herpes is not spread through the air. It is spread by direct contact to the site of infection. If you have a cold sore and you kiss someone, you will transfer the virus to their mouth. If you have a cold sore and you have anal or vaginal intercourse, you will give yor partner genital herpes. You can protect your partner from getting genital herpes by using a condom during and between outbreaks (especially since you may not know if you are having an outbreak). Keep in mind, there is nothing to guarantee the prevention of herpes besides abstinence. Answer: Are you the owner of that site? Angela :D Answer: My husband was diagnosed with genital herpes just this week and while he was having the symptoms I didn't have any at all. I would like to know if he don't have outbreaks do we still need to use condoms or it's just during the time when he has outbreaks. Answer: My husband was diagnosed with genital herpes just this week and while he was having the symptoms I didn't have any at all. Have you personally been specifically tested for herpes yourself? I would like to know if he don't have outbreaks do we still need to use condoms or it's just during the time when he has outbreaks. It's still possible to pass herpes even if there are no outbreaks that he can see or feel. In the meantime I think it would be wise for you to be tested as you may already have herpes and don't know it. Using condoms is completely up to you. My husband and I do not use condoms but that's a choice that we made together. Hang in there, Angela :D Answer: Thanks for the reply Angela, this new to both of us and we just learned it last Friday. No i haven't been tested yet. Actually I was supposed to have my appointment this week too but I got my period so i have to cancel my appointment. the next time I visit my ob-gyen I'll requst for std test. My husband and I are abstaining right now because he has outbreak but it is healing fast now his doctor gave him Valtrex 500. We agreed not to use condom too. I am so happy to know that we are not alone in dealing this situation and there are people like you who is willing to share and give advise. Answer: Oh Gosh ~ I happy to share my experiences with you guys. I don't mind one bit. :D If you want you can check out my Herpes Biography and our Herpes Telling Story for more insite into where I've been and how I've gone through life having herpes. Angela :D Answer: nsicknessnhealth, When you go to the doctor be sure to ask for a herpes blood test instead of just std testing. The reason is herpes testing is not included in routine std testing and if no lesions are present then a blood test is the only way to know. Also dont be embarrassed to be upfront with the doctor. Answer:  Herpes Testing Hope this helps, Angela :D Answer: Hi guys, I'm new here. I've been infected now for 2 years and have had 3 OB which is considered rare given my circumstances. I am allergic to latex, which has meant no sex without a full STD and blood test has taken place... I am a germophobic and have had 2 partners in my life. However you can never be too careful. My boyfriend that I had been with for 2 years (we broke up on Tuesday) did all the right things and got fully tested and came back free from infection except for HSV1 which we already knew about that infected his mouth. He had not had a coldsore since being a child Once he felt it coming on he was always responsible and never kissed me anywhere. I had an outbreak of HSV1 on my genitals shortly after he had a rare cold sore, but we had been careful and taken all of the necessary precautions. The doctor advised that it was likely that my boyfriend had touched his mouth with his hand and then touched me in that region. Anyways, now that this relationship has ended I am trying to gather information on the likelihood of me infecting other people as my partner and I continued to have unprotected sex for 2 years and he never had any symptoms of OBs on his penis??? xx Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
