Question:
Just out of curiosity... For those of you who have found a supportive partner that doesnt have the virus. My question is using suppressive therapy, condoms and no sex during OB's how long have you been able to keep them virus free?

Answer:
It was almost two years that my husband remained herpes free from the time we got back together (high school sweethearts reunited after 20 years) to the time he actually contracted it.

We chose not to use condoms, suppressive therapy (other than during highly stressful times for me) and we didn't have sex during outbreaks.

I've just begun a thread over on my STD's for Dummies hoping to get others who have experiences and words of wisdom on this very topic to share them with others.

I've been married 9 years, and she's still clean. And that's after two kids, and one lost pregnancy (not to mention the torment of getting pregnant; yeah, there is too much of a good thing sometimes).

BTW, I take NO supressants, and for that matter, we don't do anything to protect her other than abstinance during OB's (and I'm very conservative over calling my self healed)
