Between Couples

Question:
Just wondering, both my husband and I have herpes, he's had outbreaks, but to my knowledge I haven't. I was just wondering, does it matter now that we both have it to not have sex during an outbreak? Will it make the virus worse or something? Also how long do we have to wait, if we do? Till the redness is totally gone?

Obviously native about this but I can't find much about H in regards to both partners having it.

Thanks for any insight.

Answer:
My boyfriend and i both have it too. I also don't see signs of any outbreaks, but that doesn't mean I'm not having one. You could have one inside, on your walls and not know, but to ancwer your question you should wait untill the scabs clear (thats what my doctor told me) And i know in my boyfriends case, it hurts him to much to even attemp, but everones different.

Answer:
If you both have it I don't think it would be a problem to have sex during an outbreak in the sense that you can't contract the same virus twice. (unless you each have a different type) I've had one outbreak and it was very mild.. But there is no way I would have wanted to have sex just because it would have been very painful. I also believe that haveing sex during an outbreak can prolong it because the friction causes aggrevation. But no, it won't make the actual virus any worse so if he feels up to it I say why not.
