Getting Back Into The Groove Of Being Catholic And HSV +

Question:
Hello all,

a few years ago, I looked at things as thinking that I had 3 main factors going "against" me: I'm Irish Catholic, I happen to be gay to boot, and I had these funny things in my mouth...

I made a "prayer book" a few days ago at the urging of a chaplin. I wrote down 6 prayers of my own, prayers of praise, thanksgiving, intercession, petition, listening, and of course-confession. I dug through my Bible for Scripture I like-I hadn't touched the thing in years-and finally put a Psalm on the front cover and the Lord's Prayer on the back cover.

That little act, of reaching out to whoever my higher power is, made me feel...deepened a little bit, and as thought He really doesn't care if I am(and like he made me) HSV + and gay! It gave me a sense of peace, and ever time I see the Prayer Book on my book shelf, my heart rests.

We are all made equally in my mind, all created specially and especially to be the people we are...So enjoy your life!

Answer:
I'm proud of you Chris - I know that may sound silly - but I think you'll "get it"...

Maybe I'll get to a place I can make mine for the divorced Catholic... and I wonder what they'd think of my iner-racial relationship.... who knows - I'm just glad you found some peace - you deserve it.

Answer:
i am also catholic, and would like to expand upon your feelings with some of my own... i actually think God DOES care about whether you're HSV+ - but He cares in a most positive way!!! if you handle the difficulties that come along with HSV in a positive way, keeping faith in God's plan for you and not giving up hope, then in essence you are sharing in the suffering that He underwent for us and can offer your own suffering up to Him. that's the way i look at it at least, and i think not feeling sorry for ourselves and living our lives to the fullest while accepting our sufferings (in general) as a part of God's plan would make Him very happy with us. take care!
