Anyone else have both HSV and HPV?

Question:
Anyone else dating with both high risk HPV and HSV? I got both from my first love, and I have been able to talk about the HPV most of the time but I still struggle with bringing up both without sounding like a slut. My first b/f after that responded with..."so you've had a lot of casual flings, right??? Which broke my heart. After that he basically treated me like a disgusting stranger and told me he could never "see himself in a serious relationship with someone like me". I remember the words and was shocked. He's in his forties so I expected something mature.

It was his choice but his face changed forever and he has told others he doesn't respect me or my lifestyle as he is herpes negative.
I really felt he was the one so it sucked.

The next one was cool about it but in denial, I couldn't come clean about the Herpes too..it's just too much for someone to take in

What if anything do you do if you have two STDS??

And how can I feel I am doing all I can during the "Talk" to reassure?
I can't say well, I have HPV, but I don't have Herpes? Or vice versa..

Nat

Answer:
Well I just got dumped for having herpes by a guy who has warts -- How pathetic is that? And to make it worse, we were very carfeful sexually, but now I have HPV. WOOOOHOOOOO!

I have no idea how to talk to anyone about it either. It was emotionally draining enough to have to tell people I had herpes. I honestly dont think I can emotionally handle having hpv.

Any help/advice?

Answer:
There are some good sites for HPV,

first thing is get a very good doctor who listens, major hospitals are the best, they do not have hangups about hpv. I have called docs who said they didn't deal with STDS and you don't want a clinic. So start with a hospital, make an apt with the gyn clinic and be blunt that you were exposed to HPV. Then at the first sign of intense itching or redness and swelling ask for an hpv exam, the type they do with vinegar to find it, the little bumps are hard to find on your own.

If they don't want to do the exam and prefer to prescribe aldara take it. Most of the hpv starts on the outside of the vagina and moves in. Time is everything, so catch it before it becomes internal. Watch for signs, and put the aldara on. It works better on the outside and there is less burning and side effects.

Last time, three years ago, my doctor caught it very fast on the outside and near the uretha, she prescribed aldara before the test and it never moved inside. This time my doc is a cow, and she wanted to "wait and see", now it's moved from the same place to under the clitoris where it can easily spread. It's curable of course but I have high risk and so they had to do a biopsy to see if it was cancerous-women can get cancer of the vulva from high risk hpv/warts.

A lot of people say you can't get cancer of the vulva from the strain that causes warts but then docs wouldn't do biopsies. The biopsy is painful and there has to be a growth first. If it's just redness and tiny bumps they wont' biopsy so that's another reason not to wait.

I really don't like it when my doc is more of a research freak and wants to see what's going on, biopsy, that kind of thing. I just want it cleared up fast so my genitals aren't so swollen. (the cow!) I want my old doc.
One doc ten years ago tried to tell me my itching was all in my head because I was catholic and had a hang up about sex.

Anyway for me I always know when an outbreak is going to happen, it's in the same place, and it's a painful itching tingling, redness, and then soreness and then swelling, and then if it goes too long, a blister which becomes a lump. If you attack the blisters right away they do away in a day or two, it's the ones you don't find that are the problems.

Here are the sites I have found.

Most of the supplements, moducare, beta mannan, are expensive and honestly the best defense is getting the gw off right away.

They can do a test for high risk when they do your pap smear, to save time. Be sure to take your vitamins and don't smoke, cervical cancer is linked to low levels of vitamin c and folic acid. It makes sense because I always get an outbreak during winter and when I am not taking vitamins.
So far I've had an outbreak on average every 4 years, and that's with every kind of treatment including laser surgery. IF someone tries to tell you laser makes it go away forever, it's not true. It's a virus and it does come back. Watching for it, and getting it early can get rid of the outbreak in 2-3 weeks.

BTW for a man HPV isn't as painful because the skin on the penis is tougher and more resistant to acids and creams. That's why most men dont' hear about it or don't care.

Take Care.
I am post aldara this morning so I am a bit irritable. Dont' mind though.
