is my social life over?
Question: I am a high profile singer. I recently contracted HSV2, someone had it and didn't tell or didn't know, either way I'm not bitter I'm responsible for me right. My question is, I can't tell people that I have this it could ruin my career, am I just doomed to be alone? Please lend an opinion! Answer: No, you are not doomed to be alone...I think you woudl be pretty shocked it you knew how many people who are famous have this disease. (anne heche admitted in her autobiography that she has had it since childhood. I personally know of a few others...rockstars...who have it.) So you are not alone. But, I can understand too how you want to keep this on the DL. Because the press will ostrasize you and cast your name out with HERPES POSITIVE SO AND SO WITH HER DATE ....and you don't need that type of shit. If you DO date, just takes things nice and slow. Really get to know the person before becoming intimate. You do not have to tell every one you date that you have it, only people you plan on being intimate with. While you have a right to privacy THEY have the right to decide whether or not they want to be intimate with you despite having HSV2. But I think in time, you will meet someone who will love you and care for you despite this annoying crud. My man does NOT have this (thank god!) and he was there for me from the GET GO. You will just have to feel out each person you date, and over time you can tell who is going to treat you well (as you SHOULDbe treated, regardless of having HSV) I wish you luck in love and in your career. You can always come here and vent if need be. I know I do. Try to eat healthy too and take vitamins. Good luck! Answer: Thanks for the words Ouch. It is still hard to know if I will ever be able to trust someone enough to tell them about my condition. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
