Can someone please answer this question: Is my stress causing this to happen?
Question: I had my first ob a little over three weeks ago. I took acyclovir and about four days later the pain in my back, legs, and hip went away. The pain that I experienced when I urinated stopped about a week ago. However, I still get that slight tingle or funny feeling in my vagina for about a few seconds (off and on). I wanted to know if this is another ob or is it that my first ob has not completely gone away? I am under some stress and I wonder is the stress causing the ob to take longer to go away? Also, I wanted to know each time you get an ob, do you have to take medication? I heard that your menstrual cycle can cause an ob and if it does, that means an ob can occur every month. Since, this would be my second, third, fourth, etc. ob, would I have to get meds for them or do the ob's (non-initial ob's) go away on their own? Answer: I do not know the answer to your questions because i have the same thing going on right now too. I am always under stress and i just had first outbreak not too long ago but i think its coming back again because of stress. I am not sure what happens when it comes back a second time but i am feeling some discomfort down there. ALthough ever since the blisters healed its been uncomfortable down there. HOw long does it take to feel normal again?? Its soo annoying! So yea, somebody answer this person's question, i would like to know myself. Thanks!! Answer: Yes, absolutely. Whenever I am stressed out I get outbreaks. The degree of stress seems to determine the degree of the outbreak. A particularly stressful situation for me triggered an outbreak just as bad, if not worse, than my initial outbreak. So do yourself a favor and do everything you can to limit stress in your life. I know this can be hard when you are stressed about having an outbreak, telling a partner, or infecting someone else. But do what you can to limit stress at work, etc. FYI - my outbreaks also seem to be triggered by too much sun (which sucks in the summer). I have had success using Valtrex to help with the severity of outbreaks. You need a presciption from your doctor. Take it when you first feel an outbreak coming on. (I feel an uncomfortable pin/needle prick sensation). Evidentally you can take it daily too if you have outbreaks often or if you want to protect an uninfected partner.
