Recurrence 30 Years Later
Question: Hello, unable to sleep, I switched on the computer to do some research. Thirty years ago, during college, a school nurse told me that she thought I might have herpes, but it was such a mild occurrence, she wasn't sure. People were just starting to talk about genital herpes. Eight years later, a blood test confirmed that I had genital herpes in my system, though I'd not ever had another outbreak (I was just curious and asked the MD to do a blood test for it during a routine physical). Over the decades I've never had the slightest problem with herpes. However, about two months ago, I believe a mild OB may have occurred, and now, again, there seems to be definite signs of genital herpes. I've been celibate for 12 years. Life, since late October has been extremely stressful and that is the only reason I can think of to have an outbreak, after 30 years free from it (if the college episode was an actual OB). Has anyone here had a similar experience? Thanks- Answer: its entirely possible. once you're infected, thats it, you're infected. all the while, the virus has been latent. but good for you, you managed to maintain good health and stress management for 30 years. i hope i can do it too. Answer: I was just diagno with HSV 2. The doctor said i have OLD antibodies in my system. I have never experienced an outbreak, at least nothing major like the blisters, etc. I always thought it was a Yeast Infection. Lately I have been noticing some VERY small pimple looking things around my vaginal opening. Sorry to be so graphic and well is it possible to JUST start to have breakouts. I am also very sore lately. It comes and goes. Also have diarrea. Walk in doctor told me i have stomach flu, but hey i have a huge appetite...Cant be stomach flu. But yeah im just curious, thinking maybe Ive had the virus forever but maybe just now seeing some symptoms? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
