Question:
Does Herpes 2 usually come and go, or could it possibly show signs of irritation and redness for months at a time?

Also, the research i have done on pictures of genital herpes seems like worst case episodes. Stats report that a lot of people show minor symptoms. It seems like it would be benefcial if anyone could explain experiences with symptoms that are minor. This may bring people to the realization to seek a doctor.

I obviously am asking these questions because of my personal experience. Seems like i have minor symptoms that do not go away. Does anyone have similar experiences??

HSV2 comes and goes for most people. If its a new case then the symptoms are a lot worse at first. From my experience, when I first started having symptoms I noticed it was tingly and itchy down there a lot but I would definitely say the symptoms were minor and at first I just passed them off as nothing. I would think it's definitely possible to have those symptoms for a month or 2. When I have an outbreak with blisters then I would call those major symptoms because it would be pretty hard to pass those off as nothing.

A lot of those pictures you see are pretty gnarly and are probably worst case outbreaks. Some are pretty normal and accurate.

maybe u can help me further. my experience in more detail is as follows:

seems like i have this symptom for about 8months. a small area on the bottom shaft right below the head seems irritated. it pretty much stays redish w/ a touch of sliver. it sometimes has flaky skin in which the area appears more red after skin falls off. never forms blisters or full scabs, yet worried that some of the symptoms seems like herpes related. were your minor symptoms like any of these?

i have seen a doctor about 6 months ago, and he said it didnt look like anything, and also got blood test for stds. came out negative, yet after doing research, genital herpes arent tested for normal std blood test, and often misdiagnosed.

i am really concerned, and probably should get a test specific. what do u think.

Uh, yeah, I can't really diagnose you. If you've had it for 8 months straight that's probably different. You should definitely see another doctor about it. Have him also do a type-specific bloodtest for HSV. That's all I can really say about that.
