Herpes + Cancers ?
Question: My new female partner is a cancer survivor......I have HSV 2 and have heard that women who contact HSV 2 have a 50 % increased chance for Cervical Cancer. Sounds stupid....but is the risk even greater for my partner ? Please tell me there is a way to be sexually intimate and not be a threat to my new loved one... If so what is the best way to learn how to negotiate this virus..take control and not pass it on at all...? Answer: I don't know about HSV2 causing cervical cancer. It might indirectly make infection by HPV easier; some strains of HPV do cause cervical cancer. In which case, she could get the HPV vaccine to protect herself from HPV. In my opinion, all women who are sexually active should get the vaccine. Best way to avoid passing it on to her - talk to your partner about the risks, make sure you use a condom everytime, and take antivirals. Good luck. Answer: Can you tell me where I can find information On the HPV Vaccine ? Also you recomend taking anti-virals....Do you recomend Episodic or Suppressive therapy? I have read that even with Suppresive therapy you can still be contagious..? If I am just tuned into my body and very carefull abstaining durring outbreaks, taking episodic anti-virals and wearing condoms is it possible to avoid infecting my partner....? Is this virus something I just get to understand and then work around ?...Then hopefully everything is alright ? Or no matter what there will always be a risk ?
