keeping a secret
Question: I have kept my secret for 10 yrs , how long have you kept your secret for...? Answer: By secret, I'm assuming you mean from your partners. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Sure, I've kept my HSV a secret from my friends and family- they don't need to know. But it wasn't until just a year or so that I discovered my occasionally painful "hair follicle" was actually HSV2. Since then, I've had to disclose it to two folks...one who didn't have HSV, and the other who did (he actually disclosed his status first). I think it's really important to tell any prospective partners about your status though. You'd be surprised that most folks are okay with it...they might have it too. To not disclose just isn't right. Everyone deserves a chance to choose. If in doubt, reverse roles and imagine yourself in his position. Not very nice, eh? Aside from that, you're conscience is another thing. Sometimes the stress of hiding a secret like that is enough to bring on more outbreaks. What would you do then? It's so much easier to have it out in the open than not. Believe me. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
