How does sex differ now?
Question: Hey everyone!! I was just diagnosed this past month with hsv-2. And i know that sex will obviously be different but I'd like to know how it is. I did not even know i had herpes. The last time i had sex with my boyfriend was in August of last year. I went for a standard std testing at a free clinic at the end of February of this year just because i knew my boyfriend had slept with other people while with me. So the last possible time i could've contracted it was in August. I haven't really had any symptoms. Like I said i know that i coud've gotten in all the way back in August so i've been living for the past 6 months without even knowing i had it. Although, looking back, i could recognize on some occassions where i might've been having an outbreak but mistook it for yeast infection, uti, etc. I'm sorry i've gotten off track....so since i don't really have any noticeable symptoms, will i still be noticing any differences when i have sex? is there like any weird discharge or smell or feeling?? I know it's different with everyone but i'd like to know what to expect. Thank you all!!! By the way this web site is really awesome! it's wonderful support; especially when you have no one else to talk to about this!! Answer: the only thing that differs for me, is thinking more. i still have sex, still do everything i did before i found out i have herpes, the only thing that slows me down is thinking that if i change positions and want to do something else like bj, i might be transfering it to myself. other then that, no diffrence. and no theres no weird smell or discharge. Answer: I am with you waxed wrong...I do tend to "think or overthink" things too much now. Before when it was "balls to the wall" sex and fun, now I am a bit more reserved and cautious. We still have a good time, but sometimes it is just in the back of my head, and there is always the extra need for cleaning up afterwards (whereas before we would just fall asleep or something.....none of that now.) That is my biggest "dilemma" if you will.... Answer: Thank you guys for answering my questions. Great!! I already have a problem with OCD to begin with so i'm sure this will throw it into high gear! Answer: i dont find it altered the enjoyment factor of sex at all, like they say, u just clean up after then fall asleep, takes 15 seconds in the bathrrom, hardly a factor to ruin it. Answer: I dont do anything differently than before and my guy doesnt have it.I have GHSV2 and he knows all about it.I gathered info from sites like this to educate myself and him as well.I take 400mg 2x's a day of Acyclovir but when I know I'm about to get some I up the ante.I was told that the chances of him getting it from me is about 1-3%.We are both manics when it comes to the post hygiene thing even before HSV came into the picture. Answer: What exactly do you mean? I haven't been doing anything different with my partner who has it. Answer: I think she was referring to washing up after you have sex. Answer: ummm. why exactly? not to be gross, but a shower afterwards isn't going to keep you from catching it if you've been exposed during sex. Does it make any difference if you just go to sleep and shower the next day?? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
