Feeling odd about not having outbreaks
Question: I know I have HSV-2 and I have for about eleven years but I haven't had an ob since the primary one. I have looked around the forum, probably not well enough, but I haven't seen similar experiences. Is it rare for this? When I say nothing I mean no itching, little pimples, sores. Nothing that would even give an indication of an impending outbreak. Odd? Just the little I have seen is helpful but questions still exist? I apologize if the question would work better in other threads. Reasons for the lack of outbreaks (not that I am complaining!) How common to spread HSV2 during oral sex? If shedding occurs is it from the primary site only? What if that is the only place blisters have ever been? Thanks for taking the time! Answer: Are you sure it's HSV2? HSV1 genitally typically only has 1 outbreak and then never has a recurrence (although sometimes you're still shedding). Answer: I would say there is still a small risk involved but not as much as if you had a lot of outbreaks. and yes it is actually quite common in a certain percentage of people with herpes to never have outbreaks, or to never have outbreaks after their initial one. Often times it does not produce visible outbreaks again or it does years and years later for reasons unknown. Some people never have outbreaks until pregnancy or other siginificant events that change the body chemistry but it is really different for each person. So, be glad you dont get outbreaks....they suck, and just be careful. Im not a doctor but I would think having oral sex performed on you would only pose a small risk...a couple random days a year or perhaps even less than that. Only thing that stinks is not being able to know for sure....as there is no way to tell which day or times you could actually be shedding the virus but I also read somewhere that the more outbreaks you get, the more you shed....dont know if there is any truth to that, but if there was then you would be at less of a risk than most people in terms of spreading it. sorry there is no definitive answer when it comes to this virus. Answer: yo should be feeling "rather lucky" rather than "odd"...do u feel left out? here have MINE! jokes honest, ur blessed keep doing what ya doing hun Answer: You know, honestly, although I know I have anitbodies i have never had the specific virus information given to me. I received it from vaginal sex and that is how I know the other girl received it too, but unless it is tested I guess it could be either. What other ways are there that can detect which one it is when you don't have outbreaks? Time to search for some answers, or best guesses. :) Thanks for taking the time to respond! Answer: herpes specific blood test will tell you which type you have so that is the best way to find out....no lesion or blister necessary to tell if you have the virus and which type you have through this testing. Answer: Thank you for your question. I was hoping to hear that it is possible no to have an outbreak. I had one little tear and swollen lymph nodes but not too bad and I am hoping maybe I won't have anymore, wishful thinking but that's why I am dreamer. Thanks to all of you who shed light on the arginine, lysine pros and cons. Makes a lot of sense. I must have been carrying the virus for 12-15 years and my husband too, nothing from either of us until me three weeks ago. Thanks for all the good info. Also, does this h thing mean no more oral sex at all? again? I will really miss it? Answer: Are you a male? It seems male fare much better. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
