Frustrated

Question:
I have to admit, I don't really have a handle on this yet.

I have a couple little bumps that look like goosebumps and don't itch or bother me at all. The only problem is THEY WON'T GO AWAY! There are a few red marks in my upper leg area and I don't really know what those are either.

I take Valtrex once a day (which I think I'm not going to do anymore because I'm not totally convinced of how well it works), Lysine supplements, Vitamin C and I have totally cut chocolate and nuts out of my diet.

Is this an outbreak? When I went to my doctor the first time she said it looked like it could just be razor burn but razor burn definitely goes away quicker than this.

I feel like I am one perpetual outbreak and I don't know how to fix it! How frustrating!

Also, I feel as though I have turned into a hypochondriac. Any little bump on my face, legs, arms, neck I think is herpes. I am convinced that I'm going to get it in my eyes and all over my hands and it definitely freaks me out. I go through phases where I am ok with it and ok with myself but this is a down in the dumps, defeated by this virus phase.

Any help or input would be appreciated, thanks!

Answer:
It's easy to get paranoid about every little bump. If you pay attention to washing your hands every time they get near the infected area you will be just fine.

I've had this a long time but didn't actually know what it was until recently. I never had ob's I was more assymptomatic for like 8 years and it did not spread very much at all.

Today I think I'm having an ob. I've been on suppressive therapy since February. I think it has been helping me quite a bit. I had a super bad week at work and on Wednesday I had a mean headache come on. On Thursday at work my head hurt so much I could barely look at my computer. I noticed my back aching something fierce and it keeps getting worse it's sciatic type pain and it hurts to walk. I guess I'll step up my meds. This is how the hsv acted all of those years when I didn't know what it was. At least I know I don't have an actual back injury now.

When I had my major ob this year it started in January and lasted until the first week in March. It would wane a little and then flare up again. Then I went from March 5 until this week with nothing. It certainly isn't any fun but not as bad as the full on ob.

Keep taking your meds. Drink lots of water and keep up with the vitamins. Your immune system will continue to get stronger. I know its hard but emotions and stress can really take a toll on the immune system so it's important to stay positive and upbeat.

Best wishes.

I have those same lumps/bumps around my mouth.
They are just lil lumps/rise of the skin, they dont irrate me, but they just don't go away. I had one appear in jan this year, above my lip, and recently ive had two appear under my bottom lip, both after shaving.

What are these skin clear lumps? The ones at the bottom of my lip come out, minutes after i shaved my face. What could this be?

It's upsetting me so much, and doing my head in, i upset my family keep talking about it...... I just want them to go.

Ive seen my doc a few times, and he gave me some aciclovir 800g tablets, but even though im still taking them now, there is no improvment, i just come out in my lumps :(

I'm in the same boat. I have never had a problem with acne, even as a teenager. However now, my face looks like I just hit puberty! I get those same clear raised skin areas that Dean B spoke of only without shaving of course (I'm female). Plus I get larger bumps that actually come on like pimples with the white head and everything. I used to be able to pop them and clean it with alcohol or acne meds and it would clear up. These however just turn bright red and stick around! If all this face crap is actually H and not acne my question would be, how in the world is it on my face??? I wash my hands about 30 times a day! This is getting ridiculous.

Answer:
I know hun.

I mean i tell my parents about these lumps. And they are like "theres nothing there?" But there is.......

It's just it's the normal skin colour, they are lumps, of raised skin.
I have 3 alltogther.

But im starting to feel other lumps around my cheeks now, and im getting these wierd crease marks on either side of my cheek.

It just getting worse.........

What do we have????????

Answer:
I am going to see a dermatologist in June (took that long to get an appointment!) about some possible skin cancer marks on my face and have them removed. I want to address her about the other bumps/pimples whatever but am ashamed to mention that I have H. Maybe I will just judge her bedside manner and if I'm comfortable with her I'll bring it up. If I get any good info I'll let you know. ;)

Just curious, do you have 1 or 2 or both? I was diagnosed with both but have no idea if the 1 is actually oral (never had lip OB's) or both 1 and 2 are genital. That info would probably make this facial skin problem a little clearer. I've seen pictures of facial herpes and it is nothing like you and I are describing, but who knows!!!

Hope life gets happy for ya soon!!! This all sucks but it could be worse.....don't ya hate when people start with the "every dark cloud has a silver lining" CRAP! LOL

Answer:

I thought herpes went........... and then could come back.

Whay can i do to get rid of these lumps?
