help please!
Question: I was concerned about possible HSV2 exposure months ago ( I thought I was having signs of herpes on my genitals but all the doctors said it was nothing). I got tested and it came back for HSV1. My ex had cold sores and according to my mom, my dad had them as well so i figure that I was exposed through one of them. I have never had painful blisters, swollen glands, or anything like that in the genital area. The thing that is starting to worry me is that I have been seeing this girl and we had protected sex a while ago. The morning after (only about 6 hours later) i noticed a very very small white head looking thing on my penis, not a blister, on the shaft. It wasn't red or painful, just looked like a white head. I popped it and a little small white puss (like a pimple) came out. It didn't hurt or anything. the area was red for the rest of the day and then nothing the next day. I have noticed 3 more in DIFFERENT areas in the last few weeks. They just appear and I feel them for tenderness or pain and nothing. I pop them with the same result, white pimple looking pus and the redness goes away in a day. I do have severe bouts of acne and get little white heads all over my body so I am hoping that this are just whiteheads. does this sound like herpes to anyone? I got tested at 3 months after my intitial concern FYI. I know you can have HSV1 outbreaks down there but would it outbreak like this? I find my self worrying once again about herpes even though I know i don't have HSV2 and i don't want to go crazy like i did the first time so any thoughts would help. Answer: I think your fine. 1. HSV likes oral areas 2. you had protected sex - reduces the risk even more 3. If you have 1 orally, your antibodies are built up 4. they sound like pimples your having acne should give you info on not touching or more can show up... the only way to know - get the next one looked at & swabbed - put your mind to rest. Answer: thanks alot for the thoughts LasMom. you're an angel for helping people on here! the more I look at it (i had one show this morning) the more it looks like the rest of the tiny white bumps on the shaft. I'm dark skinned so I can easily see little white bumps in the skin that the DR said are natural. these little white heads seem to appear from those little white bumps that stay there. some can actually be felt and others can't. anyways, I noticed that the area where I had one last week there is one of those little bumps still there. they're hard to describe but I've always had them on the shaft so i know that THOSE are normal. i think i'm freaking out again about nothing, at least i hope. the one from this morning looks like it was on one of those little white bumps and is still a little red from pinching it but hardly noticeable. i actually pinched one of the white bumps that had no white head in a different area and a little pus came out which made me feel better but I still have concerns. even right now, i THINK i feel some discomfort from that area but i've been messing around with it all morning. Answer: You rally need to keep your hands off... That must kill squeezing there! ouch!! hope your washing your hands like crazy - if not you may be the culpret! What did the doc say the white bumps were? skin pockets - fatty tissue? curious... Answer: didn't say but they said they were natural. i think they are some kind of hair pores in the skin. there are more on the base then the top but there are a few towards the top. i noticed that I tried to pinch one earlier this morning and it is now red. the area that had the little whitehead is still a little raised (as some are) but looks just like normal skin and the redness is very faint now. i guess i make it red when i pinch it because i know it wasn't red before. if it were an outbreak, i wouldn't get them at different times in different areas would I? i've gotten like 1 tiny white head about once a week in totally different areas... like opposite sides. the DR said one can have MILD outbreaks and not notice it but none of these have been painful, scabbed over or lasted more than a day in the redness. the only reason i find them is because i inspect my area like a hawk almost everyday. not due to pain or discomfort in the area. Answer: stop touching for God's sake unless it's for other reasons!!! The tell tale sign - it comes back in the same location.. and the bumps are what I call "chicken skin" where the thicker hair is - folicles... my opinion... I had the same qstn way back because my OBs were in the hair line - but now I know the diff.. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
