PLEASE RESPOND TO MY SYMPTOMS!!!
Question: I believe I was recently exposed to HSV-1 about 3 weeks ago (kissing/oral). I've been experience so called prodromes for about 2 1/2 weeks straight, with no visible lesions. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced any of these symptoms: - tingling/crawling/itching in the face (mainly the mouth area) - tingling/pricking in the legs/thighs (feels like a hair is being pulled from my thighs) --- happens unfrequently - stuffy nose/sneezing/coughing/itchy eyes (may just be allergies) - minor irritation in the boxer region (mostly when I focus on it while I'm walking) - loss of apetite (only in the beginning when I was really depressed at the fact I might have this) --- now i seem like i got the munchies!!! - occasional itching/irritation on the left side of penis and scrotum - stinging in the lower torso (buttocks, genitals, and legs) for about 4 consecutive nights last week (had trouble sleeping due to this) - I've had a few suspicious looking mosquito bites pop out of nowhere (one on my arm, ankle, and two on my scalp), however, I don't remember ever getting but, and I've rarely been outside - I've noticed a painless bumb on the inside of each cheek, almost symmetric to each other (can almost recall them being there beforehand, but not too sure) - one painless tiny sore on the inside of the bottom lip (i think it was from constant biting the lip, but looks very suspicious). - left leg is sort of numb now that the tingling ceased - i have noticed very very tiny painless red bumps that seem to show up all around my inner thighs constantly, one after the other isolated in random spots. they always show up where the hair grows, and are about the size of the hole of a coffee straw - I get very slight stings/itches on the shaft and the head of my penis occasionally. I'm thinking the stinging on the urethra may just be due to my method of examining (stretching/squeezing/etc.). I am unsure of where the itching can be from, but while stretching, i did notice very tiny bumps behind the penis - painless pounding in my thighs/buttock (sort of like your heart beating extra fast) --- happens unfrequently - one day (for about 2 mins), I felt sick to my stomach, and broke out with a cold sweat I know these symptoms seem all over the place, but they are still going on up till today. I've been very attentive to everything going on with me, so maybe this is why I notice these things. I've seen a few doctors, who told me it was nothing (anxiety related/"all in my mind"), and it is too early to get tested Also, if this is HSV-1, has anyone ever heard of a case where someone contracted it orally and genitally simultaneously (minus autoinculation, b/c symptoms started on the same day in both places)? Any replies would be greatly appreciated Answer: i'm no expert and can't help you with your symptoms much but i can tell you what my doctor said (i saw him a little while ago re: possible herpes) "science said that HSV-1 occured above the neck and HSV-2 below. Physiologically and biologically there really isn't much of a difference b/w the two. And now we know that because of the type of behaviour people engage in the distinction between above the neck and below is really quite ridiculous. In other words, we are starting to lose the distinction b/w HSV-1 and HSV-2. You can find both in both locations of the body, the symptoms are the same and basic lab tests can not tell the difference b/w them." he also told me if you engage in oral sex and let's say were to develop herpes around the genital area from contact b/w you and the other person (even if there was no intercourse) you would 100% for sure have herpes lessions in your mouth and on your lips. again this was his prof opinion. i know there are alot of different opinions out there, but he's been my doctor for many years and i trust him. He basically looked at me and said - it's not herpes, if it were herpes you would be in a lot of pain and you would know. but the bottom line is - everyone is different and you should go see your doctor. Answer: Thanks for the reply dove, My doctors have been telling me the same thing, about knowing if you have herpes or not. I really think there should be a huge class action lawsuit against all of these doctors, because obviously this isn't the case. If it was the case, I don't understand why herpes is still spreading rapidly every year. There can't be that many cold-hearted people who KNOW they have HERPES and purposely spread it. I read your posts too dove, and have just replied Also, too add to my symptoms, muscle twitching has been occuring frequently these past few days Any more replies on my original post would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
