An insensative sister

Question:
Well the rest of my family has been very supportive but one sister. She has nothing nice to say. She lacks emotions i think.

About a month or 2 ago now, she came over and mentioned something about wearing protection and then screams out ' Atleast someone is being careful ' now that hurt. I got angry and upset inside and my mum realized and told my sister that she cant say that stuff because it would make me snap which it virtually did.

Now what makes me upset the most, she told this guy on the internet that she talked too ( She is now with this guy but thats not the point ) that i had herpes blah blah and downed my boyfriend etc, which has nothing to do with this guy. I've met him once.

How can my sister be like this? Isnt she suppose to be there for me? She doesnt seem to think about what if she was in my situation, would she really want me to mention this to other people she didnt know? Would she really want me to scream insensative comments out to her.. No. It makes me so sick to the stomach.

Can anyone relate? How did you deal with this?

Hi there,

I've just read your post and although I am not in the same situation as you, I thought I'd reply anyway. It really isn't very nice of her to react in this way and it would be much more positive for everyone if she could at least try to understand and help you - instead of making matters worse and being so nasty. Can you talk to your sister? If you could ask her the same questions as in your post - and stay calm at the same time, maybe this would help. If she knows how much she is hurting you, maybe she would think again. I do hope so.
