Question:
Any help would be appreciated. 5 days ago, I dry humped with a girl (no sex) who claims to not have herpes. The next day, my penis head was tender, but since we didn't use lube or anything that wasn't surprising. I definitely never "entered" her. Well, now its 5 days later and my penis head is still tender. No other symptoms-definitely no bumps - its no even red (I have no appetite, but that's cause I'm freaking out). I am planning on getting a blood test tomorrow, but does this sound like herpes to any of you? Thanks for any help. I am very worried.

Well, now I have 2 small red bumps where I had tenderness, so I am going to the urologist. From what I have read here, I am convinced that I have herpes. I feel like my life is over. I can't eat, sleep, or even function correctly.

calm down. if this is herpes, you're only making it worse, and if it isn't, you're worrying unnecessarily.

also... if it is, it's seriously not the end of the world. worse things happen to better people. it's a rash, for god's sake, and chances are you'll get it for a couple of days out of every year, and the rest of the time you'll probably largely forget about it. spend some time on here and read all the posts, see how quickly people become accustomed to this being a part of their lives, then either stay here and help others going through the same thing as you, or just leave, get out into the real world and see for yourself how many more debilitating things could happen to you.

Well, I went to the urologist this morning. He did not think it is anything, and only sent me to get a blood test b/c I insisted on it. He gave me a cortisteroid cream and said it just looked like a minor inflamation. Also, I didn't mention it above, but I also went down on her. Stupid, I know now, but she has only ever had sex with one guy in a committed relationship, so I felt safe. Now my glands in my neck are somewhat sore, but I've also been a wreck the last week and been doing a lot of yelling at myself. I don't have any tingling in my mouth or anything. I've calmed down now, but I just don't know what to think anymore. I don't know whether to believer the doctor or not. The blood test results will be in tomorrow, but I guess they don't necessarily mean anything if this is a new virus. Arrrgh, I feel so dumb.

"Dumb" here. I will be gone for the next 14 days, and won't have access to this site. It will be very hard, considering I will get my test results back tomorrow and am sure to have lots of questions.

The Cortisosteroid cream seems to be helping, but the tenderness/pain has faded in and out from the beginning.

If anyone has any comments in the meantime, i'll be checking tonight. Has anyone else had similar symptoms???

OK, I had to come back and check. I now have a canker sore where my tongue meets the bottom of my mouth. I guess that might be a herpes sore...I get canker sores from time to time, so i'm hoping hoping hoping that is what it is. Glands are still swollen, but no sore throat. I don have a flashlight, and I don't see anything else going on in the back of my mouth.
The odd thing - the lotrizone lotion seems to be helping my other problem, which indicates that it isn't herpes, right? b/c aren't steroid creams bad for outbreaks? All the tenderness is almost completely gone.

This is so nervewracking - I can barely concentrate on my job. It all seems like too much of a coincidence to be anything else.

Please, someone post with some thoughts! This is my only access to info or advice for the next 12 days!!!!

First try to relax...if it's not herpes your making yourself crazy for nothing....if it is ...it's not the end of the world.....you will just be a part of 1 in 4 people (those are the latest statistics) who carry the virus.....you will find a way to deal.....GO HAVE A TYPE SPECIFIC BLOOD TEST....you'll know for sure then....let us know how your doing....goodgirl
