A couple questions...

Question:
I was diagnosed only 2 months ago and I am just begining my second OB. I noticed that my Lymph Nodes (LN) were quite swollen, and after the initial attack the swelling went down a bit but not completely. They are really swollen now. I was wondering if my LN are ever going to go back to normal or will they always be swollen?

Another Question I had... My first outbreak was very painful but I fought through it for a couple weeks before getting Valtrex from the doc. I used it for 10 days and that was it. This outbreak hasnt been nearly as bad. I had a couple on my leg beside my... I dont think I have to say  and I just put a bandaid on them and it seems to be healing and just fine. Just wondering if there is anything else I should do to contain it and not allow it to spread?

Also, I am considering buying Choraphor? do you think its worth getting? and is there any other non perscription drugs out there to replace Valtrex?

Thanks

It's not uncommon to have swollen lymph nodes during a herpes outbreak. Also, it's pretty common to have swollen lymph nodes if you have a cold, etc.

What did your doctor say about it? Have you told the doctor about your symptoms?

If you have genital herpes then it's likely your outbreaks will occur below the belt line and usually in the boxer shorts area.

There are no OTC drugs that I know of that have been clinically proven to reduce transmission by 50%, cut asymptomatic shedding by 95%, or reduce the frequency and intensity of outbreaks.

Hope this helps,

Herpes can be pretty painfull.I like to take a nice bath in some baking soda (it help dry out the sores a bit) then dry off my body with a towel first then dry off the "area" very genlty or use the blowdryer set on low if it's to sore to touch.I also use a towel coverd ice pack for about 20 min and it feels better.

Herpes doesn't just spread by itself to other parts of the body.It usually happens in the same area each time. You can spread it to other body parts though if you touch an active sore then touch other body parts(espeically eyes, nose and moth) befor washing your hands.Thats why you should wash your hands after you use the toilette or touch any sores, but you probably do that anyway right

There are many alternatives to prescription meds, some work well for some people and some really don't work at all(in my opinion). Please don't believe anything that says it will cure you forever though. You can check this site for posts about some things that our other members have tried and then do your own research after. If you Pm our site admin I am sure she can tell you more about Coraphor.
