im a bit concerned... oral sex topic
Question: i have been in a very monogamous for the past 2 years and gave my girlfriend oral sex on friday. on saturday i got signs of a cold sore so im very concerned that i couldve given her genital herpes. i usually get a cold sore once every 12-15 months so im guessing this is very very bad timing. i told her immediately that a cold sore was starting to form and she isnt worried at all. its been 3 days now and shes fine, what are the chances that i have possibly given her genital herpes? i researched online that genital herpes usually develops in 2-10 days so i guess only time will tell. but during different stages arent cold sores less contagious? If you give some oral sex while a cold sore is starting or scabbing does this pretty much mean you guaranteed to give the person genital herpes? im just a bit confused in this department and my girlfriend doesnt seem worried at all. Answer: im not even sure if i have a cold sore. i havent had one in a long time but it never got large always the size of like a pen tip. never became wet and emitted any liquid. it just turned into what looks like a red scab the size of a pen tip which people cant see unless i point it out. i wish you could find pictures of common cold sores online and not just really bad cases. Answer: forget it i think i was in denial. its just a very tiny cold sore but still a cold sore i believe. what else would make a scab on your lip. nothing but a cold sore. Answer: I'm with your girl. Ease up on this. Since 60% of us already have HSV-1 oral herpes, there's a very good chance she already carries that strain of the virus. If so, she has antibodies in place to protect her from contracting this same strain genitally. HSV-1 prefers the oral site, and it is not as easily contracted genitally. So, unless she throws a frying pan at you one morning within the next 10 days, and says "get away from me!", I think you're going to be fine! Answer: day 4 still no signs for her... Answer: 5-6-7-8-9-10, and 1 to breathe deeper! LOL So, do not give up oral sex if you both enjoy it. No need. Do pay attention to prodrome (tingling or burning). If you have those symptoms, don't engage, and clearly not when you have an outbreak. Otherwise, bon apetite'. Answer: its day 6 and i think shes got it. she went on spring break for the week and called up crying that she feels awful and is coming home several days early. she wouldnt say exactly what it was but im guessing its got to do with the cold sore that developed on my lip. im picking her up from the airport in a few hours. hopefully shes ok....
