Pee Pain...how long did yours last?
Question: I've had a burning sensation everytime I pee for the past 2 weeks. I just got my lab results that say I now have herpes. In your experience how long did the pain last for? Also did the pee pain come back in subsequent outbreaks? Answer: When I had my primary outbreak I also had a bladder infection. What did your doctor give you to treat your herpes? What did your doctor give you for the pain? Did your doctor test you for other things besides herpes? Angela Answer: I was given anti-biotics at first as no one knew what it was (gono, syph, etc). Then when we kinda figured it was herpes I was given valtrex (4 right away and 4 more 12 hours later). It didn't help the pee pain or anything. My blisters started going down a few days ago but the pee pain is still there. Its not as bad as it was originally. I do the warm water over the penis trick to help the pain. I finally got some lab results a couple days later and they (walk-in clinic) said positive for herpes. My family doctor has been on holidays so its been tough trying to get any info out or any help. My family doctor never checked me for anything else (just swab of blister and pee test) so when I was at the walk-in clinic I told them to check for everything including HIV. We did full blood (they took 4 vials), throat swab, and another pee test. He said it was rare for people to get HIV through sexual intercoarse though. He gave me some strong anti-biotics in case it was also gono, clym or siph. The pee pain went away for one day but now its back. This virus loves me. I'm very healthy and have always eaten right and exercised....but I had very bad allergies (wheat, eggs, cow milk, dust, cut grass, animals, peanuts, etc) when I was little so I was always on anti-biotics and the like and always at the hospital. My mother said I developed an allergy to penicillin. It took a while for her and the doctors to figure out about allergies back then and eventually my mom could figured out what I was allergic to and keep me away from them. Not sure if its the beating my body took when I was young from the allergies or just my DNA...but this virus is eating me alive. I've got red spots on my hands and i think its herpes. My next doctor appointment is Thursday and I'm gonna ask my doc to refer me to a herpes specialist. Answer: He said it was rare for people to get HIV through sexual intercoarse though. Oh really? Then how do people get HIV? Angela  Answer: My mom said he was an idiot for thinking that. I think he was basically saying its much easier to get HIV through IV drug use vs. sexual intercoarse in the cases he has seen....but who knows. I was in too much shock with everything going on to say anything. I had so much going through my head I had to lie down or I would have thrown up. Answer: mine only lasted for the time that i had the sore. the sore i would get would be in a spot where the urine would come in contact with it when i did pee. no worries! this should subside very soon. Answer: It is true that rates of HIV are lower through vaginal intercourse. One of the reasons that HIV rates are so high in African countries is that quite often heterosexual couples use anal sex as their form of birth control. The vaginal cavity is extremely flexible and can take a beating - babies come out quite well !. Whereas the anal passge is not designed for the level of friction that penetrative sex creates. The anal passage is highly vascular - therefore bleeding occurs very easily - which does not happen normally with the vagina. They even market reinforced condoms for anal sex these days ! The heterosexual community have changed their sexual habits which is why we are seeing higher levels of HSV1 in the genitals and vice - verca. People are practicing a lot of oral sex. Similarly a lot of heterosexual couples are now regularly practicing anal sex. This correlates with the massive rise with HIV incidence in this group. Obviously you can get infected by bodily secretions such as vaginal fluid but the presence of blood increases your chances considerably. I am not advocating anything by stating this - as a lot of us have learned the hard way.... whatever your particular preferance condoms are essential. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
